How to brief a church logo
A church logo is a mark that still works on a letterhead and a shirt. Fast Ministry Graphics will make one if you pick the logo deliverable and a format. If you only describe “a logo,” you may get a poster with the name on it. The format is the instruction that prevents that.

Pick one format
- Wordmark — name only. Best when the name is short.
- Monogram — initials for icons and embroidery.
- Symbol — icon only, where the name is already on the page.
- Symbol and wordmark — the one most churches should start with.
- Emblem — a seal or shield, including a founding year if you want it forever.
Say what the mark is not
Say “no photograph, no skyline, no people, no event date.” A logo that includes Christmas Eve is an invitation. Spell the name exactly, including “Church” or “Chapel” if that word is part of the mark. A tagline can sit small under the name; a paragraph cannot.
The file you get
A square PNG, centered, with margin around the lockup. It is drawn flat so it can be placed large or small. It is not an SVG, a font, or a trademark search. Before you print a thousand shirts, check that you are not colliding with another ministry’s name or mark.
A brief you can start from
Logo, symbol and wordmark, ‘All Saints Church’, simple mark to the left, flat, two colors, no building, no photo.Open this brief
Questions
Can one logo include every ministry?
No. A children’s ministry lockup is a second project. The church mark stays the short one.
What if the letters are wrong?
Edit and name the misspelling. Do not describe a new scene. Each edit is one credit.
